I attended the Internet Marketers of New York Charity Party on Monday night and it has got to be chalked up to one of the top experiences in my Professional Career so far. I got to meet many bloggers and Social Media Icons that I have admired for some time. These are the people that I have been Stumbling and Sphinning for the past few months. Up to this point the face I could put to their brilliants posts were the Avatars that I have seen on Sphinn and StumbleUpon.

I was lucky enough to meet up with Marty Weintraub of AimClearBlog. He is a top Sphinner and was sweet enough to take the time to introduce me to some of the most brilliant Bloggers writing about SEO and Social Media. I feel honored to have gotten to know Marty and I can’t thank him enough for making this evening more special that I could have ever imagined.

This Charity Party was sponsored by Best of the Web. I got to meet Brian Prince, CEO of Best of the Web. Brian puts on a great party. He is so funny and down to earth and it was truly a pleasure to meet him.

Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land & Sphinn was also there. Danny was probably the person I looked forward to meeting the most and meeting him was even better than I could have imagined. He was in town for SMX Social Media that was beginning the next day…. I have got to get to one of his conferences!!

Chris Winfield, a top Sphinner and President of 10e20, attended the Bash and he is nothing short of amazing. He took the time to chat with me and I can sense that he loves what he does by the excitement in his smile and eyes.

Brian Wallace is not only a top Sphinner, but an amazing Blogger as well. I spent much of the evening chatting with Brian and it was certainly a pleasure.

Tamar Weinberg, one of the women bloggers that I look up to the most, was amazing. I got to speak with Tamar a bit and made sure to let her know how much I admire her writing. She is absolutely a brilliant writer, but I also applaud her for speaking her mind through her posts. From women everywhere, Tamar….. Thank you!!

There were so many others…. Matthew Currier, Brent Csutoras, Li Evans, Kim Krause Berg, Rebecca Kelley, Kevin Heisler, Neil Patel, Sara Holoubek, Jason Falls, Michael Demby, Charlene Jaszewski. There are probably others that I am not mentioning, but these are all the business cards that I collected. So, if I forgot to mention you…. please accept my apologies.

A special Thank you to Marty for letting me use the wonderful pictures he took at the party.

    Hey Shana-

Great to meet you as well and thanks for the awesome event wrap up. It was truly a fun night of networking (and drinking) with the experts in social media. Thanks for helping to make the event a great success and raise some nice cash for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I look forward to seeing you at the next NYC conference!

    Hey Shana,

Great meeting you in person on Monday. Might want to note to the audience that I’m the guy on the right in the picture for those that weren’t there.

Good luck with your new blog!

Amazingly enough you were so worried about having a party you forgot to mention anything about what the Charity event was for.

    Great journalism………

Hey Shana, didn’t realise you had a new site. Congrats on making it to an internet marketing related event, something I’m yet to do.

Looks like you had a great time.

Clint - You are right…. I should have mentioned what the Charity Event was for. I guess since the post before this one and my post at http://www.allworkathomeideas.com/blog/2007/10/09/party-in-nyc-help-cure-cancer/ gave the details of the Charity Event I neglected to mention it again. The Event was to help raise money to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fight cancer. The event was a huge success and I should have mentioned that.

Thank you, Clint for bringing that to my attention.

    Shana,

It was great to meet with you and talk for a bit. Sorry about the false alarm on the called numbers. It was loud so it wasn’t your fault.

    Hope you had fun.

    Brent

    Hey Brent,

I had blast… it was a lot of fun. I’m so glad to have met you. And, as far as the called numbers…. I don’t think I was up for the Tequila. Had that been the case I might have been bummed. ;-)

    Thanks for stopping by.
